| U18 Player, Chaz Morrison,Player who has been with the Fury since its inception, The Fury Organization wishes you the Best in the rest of your Endeavors on the ice and off! 
Charlie "Chaz" Morrison has worn a Frederick Fury jersey from first year mite to second year midget. He has been an integral teammate on both A and AA Fury squads over the last 11 years including several years on the summer squads. He has been both assistant captain and caption sharing encouragement, passion for the game and his teammates. As a strong offensive contender, Chaz's speed, stick handling and knowledge of the game have made him a playmaker with many assists and goals in much needed wins for the Fury. Chaz has also played high school hockey and lacrosse for Governor Thomas Johnson high school in Frederick, Maryland. He has accrued over 200+ hours of community service and service learning. One of Chaz's favorite community service projects involved sending care packages to the troops in Iraq with his Fury U-16 team. He is currently a referee at Skate Frederick where he encourages the younger players as he helps them learn the rules of hockey. Chaz is currently on the honor roll, and preparing to go to Frederick Community College in the fall. He, then plans to transfer to a four year college to study business. Chaz's dad, Charlie, has been involved in the Fury since it's formation, serving on the first board, and acting as a Fury coach for many years. Charlie enjoyed sharing his love of hockey as a hockey 1 skills coach, an in house coach and summer elite coach for various levels. He currently is head coach of the TJ high school team. Kitty has served on the auction committee and helped with various Fury functions in the 11 years Chaz has played. The Morrison's want to thank the Fury for an amazing 11 years,wonderful memories and lifelong friends they have made along the way.
CBHL Player of the Month, Nathan Young, Squirt, January Player of the Month Congratulations! 
Nathan Young is a defenseman for the Frederick Fury Squirt Upper A team. This is Nathan’s third year of playing ice hockey for the Frederick Fury. Last season he was co- captain of the Mite A team. He has been playing hockey for almost 4 years. He was also a member of the Washington All Stars AAA Team 2000 last spring. When he is not playing hockey for the Fury, he also enjoys playing goalie for various in house teams when the opportunity arises. Nathan is a straight A student in the fourth grade at Deer Crossing Elementary School. His favorite subject is math and science. He participates in various extra academic programs in math and science at his school. He would like to attend Cornell University and play for the Big Red someday and major in medicine. When he is not on the ice, he is an accomplished cross country runner. He currently is a member of the Lightening Running Club and has participated in various meets across the region. Recently, he placed first in his age group for the Mile run at the Frederick County Elementary and Middle School Cross Country Meet. He also currently plays intramural soccer with his local YMCA. In addition, Nathan currently takes trumpet lessons to broaden his horizons and has been involved his local Boy Scout organization.
KC Elliott Bantam Fury Player of the Month

KC is a defenseman and the captain of the Fury Bantam AA team. He started with the Fury as a squirt, and now begins his sixth year with the organization. KC is a regular volunteer with the hockey camps and clinics at Skate Frederick. You can often find him on the ice assisting new players in the “Learn to Play Hockey” and “Skills Development” classes on Friday nights. The four and five year olds quickly become attached to KC and gravitate to him whenever he is on the ice. He has been described as an outstanding leader on the Bantam Black team. KC leads by example during practices and games not only with his solid defense, superb stick handling, and wrist shot, but through words of encouragement and motivation to his teammates. KC is in 9th grade at Liberty High School, maintaining all A’s and on the honor roll. He is also a member of the AP Wind Ensemble and plays the bass clarinet.
Jacob Katopol Pee Wee Fury Player of the Month

Jacob Katopol has been on the ice most of his life, with this being his eighth year of hockey. He is into his fifth season with the Frederick Fury Youth Hockey Association, after playing three years in Michigan. He is currently assistant captain of the Pee Wee AA team, and has served as captain on teams previously. Jacob has also played on the Frederick summer travel team, the Riptide, for two years. Defense is his forte, and hockey is his passion.
Jacob is active in school, his neighborhood, and the community. He has been a peer mentor in school, and has participated in several clubs. In the winter months Jacob maintains his own snow shoveling business, with plans to add lawn care next summer. Jacob has been involved with multiple community service activities such as eliciting and donating needed items for the Frederick Rescue Mission and youth activity centers in Africa, adopting families at Christmastime through multiple organizations, as well as raising money for UNICEF. Jacob is in seventh grade at West Frederick Middle School, and maintains a 4.0 grade point average.
CBHL Announces Fury Player,Thomas Nehring, U18, September Player of the Month Congratulations! 
Thomas Nehring is an eight year member of the Frederick Fury Youth Hockey Association and captain of the Fury’s U18 AA team. He has previously served as assistant captain of other Fury teams and is captain of his high school hockey team, the Damascus Hornets. For each of Thomas’ years in high school he has been selected to play in the Maryland Scholastic Academic All-Star games. Over the years, Thomas has demonstrated his ability to play defensive and offensive positions and is utilized where most needed by the team. Thomas is an active member of the Damascus United Methodist Church. He is a member of the Charles Wesley Youth Choir and has toured with the group on separate trips to New York, New England, Minnesota, and California. Through his church, Damascus Help volunteer food distribution to the needy, and Montgomery County Public Schools, Thomas has earned over 300 hours of community service. A senior at Damascus High School, Thomas maintains a 4.35 weighted grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society. During the 2008-09 school year, Thomas was one of 25 students from the 45,000 students across Montgomery County Maryland to be selected for a prestigious academic program and internship jointly sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is continuing his research project, working with accomplished scientists from around the world by attending high school classes in the morning and commuting in the afternoon to a laboratory at NIH. | |
